反戦を語るためにこそ、徹底的な軍部の率直な情念を表出させた恐るべき演出。
太平洋戦争のその先に果たして日本の及び、世界の"再生"はあったのかー現代へ問いを突きつけられているよう。

The "way" of defeat, the "funeral" of the Empire of Japan, the roars and disappointment of soldiers struggling in the waning days of the war, and their gazes on the next generation.
The texture of the facial expressions and the spirit of the characters break the frame of fiction.
Kihachi's films are dynamic, but in the "gaps" that suddenly appear, the flaws of people who try to move forward and live (and die) are reflected.
It is a frightening production that expresses the honest passion of the military in order to speak of anti-war.
It seems to pose a question to the present day: was there really a "rebirth" of Japan and the world beyond the Pacific War?
