動物園の動物は観られることで、動物たり得るということが成立するが、
マルケルのとらえた動物はみな、檻の中こそがユートピアな世界の中心であるというふうに、寛いでいる。

The animals in the zoo are able to be animals because they are being watched,
but all of the animals captured by Marker are relaxed, as if the cage were the center of their utopian world.
